Thanks to everyone who turned out to wish me a happy birthday so far! YOU'RE ALL AWESOME and It's been a good one :D (Big Grin) I mean I got up at 5 to finish a research paper outline and have to study for an exam soonish, but other than that of course, haha. There was supposed to be a rocket launch today (which was super exciting, because birthday rocket launch??? YES), but it got scrubbed with three or four minutes left on the countdown due to weather. I missed the beginning of a class trying to watch it haha. If launch conditions are good, it should be at 3:10 (central time) tomorrow though! And 1000x thanks again to :iconkasperfiege: for the premium membership! La la la la I can use journal skins and use thumb codes outside of journals now! And do some formatting stuff with my page maybe! I feel like I have powers :0

I still have my trailcam up back home, and the spot really has turned out to be fantastic. This time I not only got coyotes, but I got them in the daytime and I got four (!!!!) of them in one image 8D

Got a pretty nice arrangement with these deer too:

Every time I check this camera, no matter what else is on there, I can always expect deer. If anyone wants to see more deer pictures I absolutely have them. I've also got turkeys and squirrels and crows and an owl and I don't even remember what else. Definitely a fun thing to have around! c:

My internet connection on my main computer has been really amazingly terrible lately, so that is an issue. One I'm going to try to get resolved soon though. I don't know what's up with that but I'm hoping an ethernet cable will fix it (because I'm just using wifi currently, due to none of my cables being long enough). There's some other (mostly school-related, some non) stuff that's stressing me a bit but I don't want to go into it/think about it right now hahahaaa.

Regarding the snake bones, over spring break a few weeks ago I found a mostly complete and pretty long rat snake skeleton out in the field : D It's just missing part of the tail and lower jaw. It looks like it was out there for a long time; it's mostly clean but it's got some pretty stubborn gristle left on it. The face is mostly still on the skull and at this point I don't know if I actually should take it off; the skull is pretty intricate and damaged and this is holding it together. I soaked it all overnight in peroxide (may or may not have been the best choice, I don't know) so it's "clean," doesn't smell, and I was able to reposition it, but yeah there's still some of that gristle left. I'm afraid to clean it too harshly because if that spine comes apart with all those little vertebrae I'm not gonna mess with putting it all back together. idk if I should assemble it as it is now or try to clean/whiten it up some or what. Or superglue it now and then try to whiten it??? I have no idea how or if anything I would need for that would react with superglue. It may look like a bit of a mess whatever I do with it since was is a little rough when I found it, but it's practice! I have a basic plan for how I want to display it. Whatever I do it will probably be a summer project, but then the summer is coming up in a few weeks (which is hard to believe, agh). If anyone has some experience in this sort of thing I'd love to hear what you think~

How does it feel being old?
