EDIT The new Submit page screwed this all up. Here's the description it should have posted with:
This is my incredibly belated half of a trade for

, who is awesome and drew me this piece of amazingness:

I'm so sorry this is so late

I just seem to get worse and worse on trades.

This was sort of experimental in method and style, and didn't come out quite how I wanted it to. If one were to critique this, I imagine it would be really easy to pick apart for flaws. Backgrounds are tricky things to figure out. I may come back to it and edit some, but I've taken too long as it is. Anyway, hope you like it~ I love Vulkan's design.
Character (C) *
WolfHowl10WIP here:
Something about it look different than it did in Photoshop. It looks too contrasty? There's something going on anyway.
Love the detail on the fur and those leeeaaaveees~
Leeaves! I'm so glad they look like leaves; for a while they didn't |D
It's so pretty
Thank you! C:
Oh, but a little tip with backgrounds: Things generally get lighter/less saturated as they get further away (atmospheric perspective) and either way, it helps to focus the subject more when there's a lot of contrast up front.
Ooh yes I didn't even think to implement that. That could really add some depth here; I may have go back and to do that some time.
I don't see here many features to be judged. I just think there should be more reflexes from fire on trees, ground... maybe on thw wolf too. But this issue doesn't hurt the eyes, the piece is beautiful at all.
The whole thing looks like a traditionally painted piece actually! The background has a large influence on that. The careful way that you painted the character makes it fit perfectly with the image, rather than it standing out awkwardly like so many pieces tend to do.
Anyways I'll stop rambling, but I want to say that all of the hard work you put into this really shows, and its gorgeous to look at
