Spoon reference

Description

EDIT
lol. It appears people are assuming his name is actually Spoondog. This is amusing but I went ahead and changed the title for the sake of accuracy. So it is now just "Spoon."

This is the character with which I will be auditioning for :iconchernobyl-curs: :D It's a bit sloppy. :C For some reason I couldn't get it to turn out right digitally, and I had so many other things to do, so I did the reference lines traditionally. I hope it's not too bad.
INFO
~

Name: He has no actual name. If asked, he will respond with a random word that he likes. It is always the name of a human-made item. Spoon is simply the most frequently used one. Others include Car, Lintroller, Shoe, Sputnik, Lintel, Compass, etc. The only name he will ever give that is not a human-made item is Bluegray.

Breed Base: Smooth Collie x German Shepherd, but there are likely other breeds as well
Build is predominantly Smooth Collie, while the German shepherd shows up some in the facial structure
Possibly some Blue Heeler/Australian Cattledog

Height 24 in at shoulder

Age: 4

Gender: Male

Abilities: Not much other than, despite (or perhaps it’s partially the cause of) his sometimes absent-minded “spaciness,” he is unusually intelligent for a dog. He can read, for one thing. The thumblike digits on his front paws mean that he can manipulate things almost as though he had hands (albeit a bit clumsily). For example, he can’t use them to pick something up and hit someone with it, but they could be useful if he were to set a trap or something.

Strengths: Resourceful; may use random things from the surroundings as weapons, distractions, etc.
High pain tolerance. That means that he can put up with or overlook pain or discomfort until it becomes too severe.
Endurance. He can keep up a run or a fight for a long time.

Weaknesses: Not as fast as he looks like he should be, especially over short distances. Also his reflexes aren’t the fastest. His tail could also count as a weak spot; due to it having been broken in the past, an injury to it (around the broken part) could be more painful than it would normally be.
His reluctance to kill may also count for another weakness. (that applies to other dogs, not prey animals)

Personality: Very easygoing and laid back. Also very open minded. He’s the sort who can get along with pretty much anybody. It’s very difficult to make him truly angry or even irritated, because whatever’s going on, he has a tendency to adapt to it and go along. He’s prone to saying/doing seemingly random or spontaneous things, but is never hyperactive. He’s basically a happy and good-natured dog, and won’t hesitate to help someone out if they need it. He has a good sense of humor and doesn’t usually take life too seriously. It should also be mentioned that he’s curious about virtually everything, from the workings of the natural world to human machinery. He has a particular affinity for human culture (for lack of a better word). He’s fascinated by it and often ends up wandering through cities or other populated areas as a result. In Pripyat, in the building he’s taken up residence in, he keeps a growing collection of items he’s found in the city that he thinks are particularly interesting. He loves elaborate objects, particularly compasses and other navigational instruments. He also loves clocks and watches though he himself has a very poor concept of time.
Though he’s mostly non-confrontational, preferring to work out differences through nonviolent methods, as a drifter he has come into situations where a fight was necessary, so he knows how to handle himself if that sort of situation arises. However, his aim is never to kill, only to get his point across. So in a fight to the death, his reluctance and hesitation may hurt his chances of winning.
Also, he is easily lost in his own thoughts. He also may notice somewhat insignificant details of a situation while missing the underlying point entirely. As mentioned earlier he is prone to absent-mindedness.

History: He had a fairly standard puppyhood. He was born to a stray in a junkyard, where he grew up amongst the things that humans throw away. He isn’t sure if this is where his fascination with humans came from, but he finds it likely. His mother had the same strange sense of humor that he does, and so did not give her offspring official names, thus his odd list of names he’s come up with for himself. At around one year of age he dispersed to wander, which he’s been doing ever since. Most of his wandering has been more or less aimless, but he came to Pripyat because the concept of a ghost town interested him. There he imagined that he could explore the ruins and find all sorts of interesting things in relative peace. He had no idea there was a fighting tournament he might get sucked in to.

Likes: Practical jokes, irony, human objects, atmospheric optical phenomena, other dogs with a good sense of humor, in-depth conversation, reading (not just books, he’ll read road signs or whatever has words on it, really), music, anything odd or out of the ordinary

Dislikes: Not a lot, really. Dogs who become seriously confrontational (though usually he just finds it amusing when they do, it can get to a point where he gets tired of it), mistreatment of others (he feels everyone should get along)

Other: He has no dewclaws.
Though he’s got a lot of dark markings, only the larger ones need be paid special attention to for accuracy (most importantly the ones on his face, and the ones on his feet/toes). The small ones on his legs can be applied a bit more random.
And an additional note to those drawing him, he rarely ever snarls or growls, even when fighting.

WHAT HAVE I DONE. :iconimhorrifiedplz: This is possibly the most non-confrontational character I have (with the exception of Grey, lol) and here he will be in a fighting tournament. Why did I do this. Just why. I hope he makes it past the first round.

On an additional note, I may need help with weaknesses. I didn't want to give him a bad leg or anything, because not every dog has something like that and I just can't see him with it. I think his scatterbrained personality is almost in itself a weakness, but... x] You will probably get a better idea of what he'd be like in a fight by reading the Personality section than the strengths and weaknesses. :P So do I need anything else?

And OCT people, inform me if I've done anything else stupid. The moment I sat down to write this I went blank, though I've been developing this character for awhile. And I kind of feel a bit out of it right now. So typos and redundancy and other dumb things may be all over the place :dummy:

And if anyone needs a translation of what my handwriting says, just ask |D

EDIT
Apparently the strengths and weaknesses are fine, so I'm good to go :D

This is my character. It is not your roleplay character, nor is it a reference image for you to copy the design off of. I worked hard on it and you are NOT ALLOWED TO USE IT. It is copyright to ME.
