Made this back at the very beginning of the winter break, in sort of celebration of having survived my first semester of college \o/ And because I was happy to have gotten the hard classes (algebra and public speaking, ew) out of the way. Not to mention I AM FINALLY DONE WITH MATH EDUCATION. It's most likely that I will never have to take another math class in my life and you have no idea how happy I am about that. Now I'm rambling.

The wolf is from Dawnthieves.de, an awesome free photo site. I only wish they were higher resolution but maybe it's a bandwidth thing or something and it's easier to have them on the website lower res. Many photos of their really remind me of my characters, which is usually what sparks a manip from me. The original photo can be found here: [link]
All the other photos used were my own. Wish I'd refined the edges of that rock a bit more before I blurred it but I didn't. Also on lighter monitors it's a bit too obvious that the darkest fur is quite a bit more grizzled looking on the original wolf image. But other than that, this turned out to actually be a pretty good representation of Ava. I didn't even have to do much work with the Liquify filter. I smudged the edges of the cutout and drew the hairs back in again, a method I like much more than my previous one of cutting around every hair meticulously. A lot of the bright highlights are drawn on.
