Ended up making it a bit more elaborate than I'd planned, but once I got going I couldn't really see it any other way. My never-ending quest to figure out backgrounds continues, but I think this one is something of a breakthrough. Not sure how I consistently end up making backgrounds that are nothing like what I pictured, but that's okay. Maybe. I apologize for the anatomy fails; I started this quite a long time ago, haha. I fixed what I could (shortened the muzzle) but some things had to stay. And I tried doing cel style highlights to match the shading, but I couldn't get them to look decent. Gradients to the rescue.
